Open-Toe Boots…Seriously?

I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve been seeing a lot of open-toe boots in stores.  If you’re like me, then you’re wondering what in the world designers are thinking.  I have no idea what temperature they keep catwalks at, but I’d like to see those models walking through several inches of snow in furry boots that show off their perfect pedicures. Not that haute couture’s main purpose was ever practicality, but I thought boots should at least keep our feet and legs warm.  Only now, apparently, designers want us to have frostbitten little piggies so that maybe we can buy their close-toe strappy sandals they’re designing for spring.  Or maybe they’re in cahoots with doctors and pharmaceutical companies making anti-frost bite medications and creams.

What’s your take on this year’s new boots?  What are some other fashion horrors you’ve witnessed this fall?
